We couldn’t have asked for better weather for Diana and Alejandro’s wedding day. It was sunny, the temperature was in the 70’s and there was a breeze blowing that I used later to help capture some awesome veil shots!
They started out their day getting ready at their respective homes. They had chosen to have a very traditional wedding so Alejandro and his groomsmen had elaborately embroidered suits with sombreros. Diana has chosen purple for her bridesmaids, and also incorporated the color throughout her wedding details. Her trumpet shaped, off the shoulder gown was adorned with lace appliques and a long train. She has beaded shoes and a cathedral length veil with a blusher.
Their ceremony took place at San Francisco de Asis which was a beautiful church with a center aisle leading to the alter. Diana was escorted down the aisle, and I thought it was so sweet when she arrived and turned to face Alejandro she told him how handsome he looked.
Immediately following the ceremony, we headed out for portraits! I was so thankful for the breeze because it really helped keep her veil floating for some amazing shots!
Following the bridal party photos they left in a trolley bus for the reception location at Hanging Gardens. Diana and Alejandro prepared mini tequila bottles with shot glasses and little candy favors for their guests. They had a mariachi who escorted them to make their entrance. They had special dances of El Baile de los Munecos—where married women from their families danced in a circle and at the end they gave loaves of bread to the newlyweds. Another dance was El Baile del Mandilon where Alex got a special apron, a broom and a baby and he pretended to be cleaning while Diana was behind him pretending to hit him with a belt…this was meant as a joke to signify that Diana would wear the pants in the family.
After the garter and bouquet toss and other traditional dances, Alejandro sang a song to Diana, Banda Estrategia was playing while Alex was singing "Mi razon de ser" which is a very romantic song. The families also observed a moment of silence to remember Alex’s aunt who had recently passed away.
It was a beautiful celebration of two special people and we are honored to have been a part of their day! We wish you an amazing honeymoon in Los Cabos and many blessings as you begin your married life together!
