A Rainy, Tropical, Full-of-Love Wedding at The Haley Mansion in Joliet IL

Some weddings just feel different from the moment you walk in, and Olivia and Sam's was one of them. Rain or shine (okay, mostly rain), this day was full of joy, color, and so much love. Here's a little look back at their beautiful day in Joliet, IL.

We started the morning at Olivia's getting-ready spot right here in Joliet. Once she stepped into her dress, we did a first look with her dad, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room. It was such a tender, emotional moment. Right after, Olivia shared a first look with her bridesmaids, and the excitement in the room said it all: this day was really happening.

From there, we headed to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet, where Sam was already waiting with his groomsmen. By this time, the rain had started — but that didn't stop us from grabbing some beautiful photos of Sam with his parents and the guys before the ceremony began.

Olivia's cathedral-length wedding dress, paired with her matching royal cathedral-length veil, was absolutely stunning against the church's architecture — truly perfect for the space. One of the sweetest touches of the day: Sam's grandmothers carried in the flowers as the "flower grandmas," and Olivia's grandma joined them too, escorted down the aisle by her grandpa. It was such a heartfelt, special moment to witness.

The ceremony ended with a bubble exit, and the newlyweds stepped out as husband and wife for the very first time.

Still raining, but with a cool, refreshing breeze- definitely not typical summer weather, but lovely in its own way, we made our way to The Haley Mansion. Waiting there to greet the newlyweds? Chilli, Olivia and Sam's dog, patiently sitting in a bow tie that matched the bridesmaids' dresses. He looked dapper, and it was the perfect way to include him in the celebration.

Inside the mansion, we captured the bridal party in all their color: bridesmaids in blue floral dresses carrying purse bouquets, groomsmen in blue suits with pink ties, and a matron of honor and best woman in coordinating (but slightly different) looks that tied the whole palette together beautifully.

By now you've probably noticed the theme: a gorgeous tropical wedding. The reception tables featured a large conch shell centerpiece, coconuts, vibrant pink anthurium flowers, and lush greenery. Their cake was just as stunning — decorated with pink orchids and monstera leaves on an ornate gold stand, adding an elegant touch to all that vibrant color.

The dancing kicked things off with a daddy-daughter dance, a mother-son dance, and then a sweet daddy-and-daddy dance, opened up by both of their dads. Once the floor officially opened, it stayed full — guests dancing all night long until the very end of the party.

One of our favorite moments of the whole day: Olivia and Sam thanked their guests with a basket of tennis balls for their guests to take home to their own dogs, as a sweet nod to Chilli. And later, they surprised everyone with a donut entrance — bringing in donuts from a local shop and personally going table to table to hand them out to their guests.
