Fall Portrait Session at Lilacia Park in Lombard, IL

Back in October, I had the joy of photographing Victoria’s 15th birthday portrait session at Lilacia Park in Lombard, IL. Her family is a returning client, and just a few months earlier I photographed her big sister Sophie’s session so being able to capture this milestone for Victoria felt extra special. We’ll be doing their family session next, and that will be another beautiful blog post to share soon.
This past year has been incredibly busy, and my priority has been delivering galleries as soon as possible. Blog posts come afterward, but I always want to make sure I highlight these special moments, even if it’s a little later.
Victoria chose greens and burgundy tones for her outfits, which paired perfectly with the earthy fall colors throughout the park. Even though it was a chilly, windy fall day, she was brave and made it all look effortless. The atmosphere had that cozy fall feeling that I love.
One of my favorite parts of this session was the lighting. The sun kept peeking in and out, giving us a mix of soft overcast glow and warm light streaming through the trees. Don’t get me wrong, I love a cloudy day, but when the sun slips through for just a moment—it’s magic. Lilacia Park still had a few flowers blooming, including what looked like burgundy and orange dahlias on the ground, adding a beautiful touch to the background.
This session was not only a celebration of her 15th birthday, but a moment to capture her confidence and personality during such a special time in her life. I’m truly grateful that her family continues to trust me with their memories.

If you’re looking for family photos or birthday session photos, Lilacia Park is always a stunning choice for portraits.
