Summer Portrait Session at Lilacia Park in Lombard, IL

This summer we had the joy of photographing Sophie at Lilacia Park in Lombard, IL—and let me just say, the entire session was a dream from start to finish!

Sophie is such a natural in front of the camera. With her beautiful personality, constant smile, and down-to-earth vibe, every photo felt effortless. Surrounded by summer greens and vibrant flowers in shades of yellow and purple, she popped in every single spot we chose.

She came prepared with a variety of outfits, each one showing a different side of her style. The first look was casual yet chic: a white spaghetti tank paired with a navy pencil-style skirt and sneakers. Next, she changed into a soft, silky yellow dress that gave off a stunning summer glow. Finally, she brought out one of my favorite prints right now—white with a blue design. It’s so in style, and I’d love to see more of it in future sessions!

While it’s hard to pick a favorite part because Sophie absolutely nailed every pose and every location, one special moment stands out. As we were wrapping up and heading toward the parking lot, I noticed a simple wooden fence with gorgeous light pouring in. We paused for “just a few more” shots—and wow, those turned into some of my favorites from the entire gallery.

Sessions like this remind us why we love portrait photography so much. From planned outfits to spontaneous golden light moments, Sophie’s session was a beautiful mix of creativity and authenticity.
