A Summer Family Session Full of Familiar and New Faces

This family session was extra special to me. Shannon is a returning client. This is actually the third time I've worked with her family, and each time has been such a joy, including a lifestyle newborn session with baby Weston. This time, it was Shannon's mom, Michelle, who reached out to book a family session at their home. It felt less like meeting a new client and more like a reunion.

The session was for the whole family: grandparents, their two daughters, their husbands, and all the kids. Some faces were familiar to me, like Shannon and her little ones. Other faces were new, and it was so nice to meet them for the first time. Being trusted by a family again and again, as it grows, is one of my favorite parts of this job.

Being at their home made everything feel warm and easy. You could see how close this family is in the way they laughed together and hugged each other without me even asking. Big families can feel hard to photograph sometimes, but this group made it simple. Grandparents, parents, and kids all together, in a session I know they will treasure for years to come.

Being invited back by a family, especially by a client's mom after being trusted first by her daughter, means so much to me. It's why I love this work. Photography is not just about one photo. It's about the relationship that keeps growing, session after session.
