Downtown Riverside Maternity Session: CRISTINA

A beautiful summer maternity session at Riverside, IL

This past June, we had the joy of reconnecting with familiar faces for a very special reason—Cristina and Juan are expecting their first baby! We’ve had the honor of photographing their engagement session and wedding, so when they reached out for maternity photos, it felt like such a full-circle moment.

We met them in downtown Riverside, IL, a charming spot that gave us the perfect mix of greenery. It was a classic Midwest summer day—hot, humid, and surrounded by lush greens everywhere you looked. Despite the heat, Cristina and Juan brought so much joy and excitement to their session.

Cristina looked radiant in a white dress with a soft blue print, which paired beautifully with Juan’s blue shirt and black bottoms. Their outfits not only complemented each other but also popped perfectly against the summer greenery.

One of my favorite parts of the session was photographing them on the suspension bridge in Riverside. Now—I’ll admit, walking across it made me a little nervous (haha!), but the photos we captured there were absolutely worth it. The bridge framed them beautifully and added such a romantic, whimsical touch to their gallery.

What made this session even more special is knowing that this is the next big chapter for them. From saying “I do” to now welcoming their first baby, being able to capture their journey as a couple has been such a privilege.

Cristina and Juan’s maternity session is a reminder of why we love documenting these milestones—it’s about freezing the little in-between moments of excitement, love, and anticipation before life changes forever.
