There are sessions that feel extra special the moment they start — and Sophie's graduation portraits at the Woodstock Square were absolutely one of them.

If Sophie looks familiar, that's because she's not a stranger around here. We worked together last year for some portraits, and when it came time to celebrate one of the biggest milestones of her life, she came back. And honestly? That never gets old. When a client trusts you enough to return, it means everything.

Sophie just graduated from high school — with honors. Let that sink in. She didn't just cross that stage, she crossed it with her head held high and the cords to prove it. Girl worked hard, and it showed.

She showed up to her session in her graduation gown — a stunning blue that was absolutely made for the charm and character of Woodstock Square. The historic backdrop, the open sky, the beautiful architecture — everything just came together in the most natural, effortless way. Blue never looked so good.

But the real showstopper? Her cap.

Sophie decorated her graduation cap with photos of herself as a baby and growing up, pictures of her friends and family, and delicate pearls. I'm not exaggerating when I say I stopped and just took a moment to look at it. It wasn't just decoration — it was a whole story. Her whole life up to this point, right there on top of her head. The little girl she was, the people who walked this journey with her, and the elegance of those pearls tying it all together. It was so her.

She brought her family and friends along for the session, and the energy was everything. Cheering her on, laughing, celebrating — you could feel the love surrounding her. Those are the moments I live for as a photographer. The in-between ones. The real ones.

We moved through Woodstock Square and let the location do what it does best — give us gorgeous, timeless backdrops with so much personality. We got everything: posed portraits, candid moments, close-up details of that cap, the cords, the gown — all of it documented the way it deserves to be.

Sophie, watching you at this session was such a joy. You came back to me for this milestone and I'm so glad you did. You are smart, you are loved, and you have the most beautiful chapter ahead of you.
