After several rainy weddings, we were so excited to end our wedding season with Stephanie and Ryan’s gorgeous, sunshine-filled wedding day! Stephanie and Ryan met through a blind date set up by one of their mutual friends. Ryan popped the question one day when he took Stephanie on a picnic at Starve Rock. Stephanie is a graphic designer and Ryan is an engineer—and they complement one another perfectly!
Their beautiful wedding took place in Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. Stephanie’s colors were deep red, navy and creamy white. Her strapless gown was elegant, and her bridesmaids looked beautiful in their deep red gowns. We had a gorgeous setting for Stephanie’s getting ready photos…the windows and natural light were perfect!
Ryan and Stephanie opted for a first look, and they were anxious to see one another! When Ryan turned around to see Stephanie his entire face lit up, and he couldn’t stop telling her how beautiful and amazing she looked. We shot some portraits and had some beautiful glowing light! Later, we were so touched when Stephanie’s father walked her down the aisle. Tears rimmed his eyes as he gave his daughter away to Ryan.
After a sweet ceremony, we shot. More portraits and then headed to the reception. The fall themed décor was really beautiful. Stephanie designed her invitations and created her bouquet. Their wedding cake had fall leaves circling it and there were pumpkins on the table and fall garlands—it tied in beautifully with their wedding colors. Ryan and Stephanie shared their first dance, and everyone at the reception was smiling and genuinely excited to see this special couple united! We were so privileged to be able to capture their story—from their engagement session to their wedding.
