I’ve been meaning to share this sweet cake smash session for a couple of weeks now—life has been busy! But don’t worry, the full gallery has already been sent to Josiah's family, and I couldn’t wait any longer to show a little preview here too.

Josiah celebrated his first birthday with the cutest "First Trip Around the Sun" theme. His session took place right in my little home studio (aka my cozy living room), and we transformed it into a space adventure! We used blue, gold, and gray balloons, star and planet cutouts, and of course—my signature twinkle lights and clean white floor setup. ✨

Josiah came ready to shine in his adorable astronaut outfit—seriously, he looked like he was ready to board a rocket ship! For the cake smash, his mom brought two super cute outfits: a fun overall and a themed onesie that said “It’s My 1st Birthday” with planets and a rocket. Every little detail was on point!

The cake was a simple but beautiful ombré design, with two shades of blue fading into white at the top. The topper said “ONE” with a rocket as the “O”—such a perfect touch to tie in the space theme.

At first, Josiah was curious about the cake, gently poking and examining it. But once he got going, he dove right in and made a wonderful mess! He’s such a sweet boy, and his smile made the whole room light up. 🩵

While I loved the full setup and theme, my favorite shots from this session are the close-ups. That’s where you can really see Josiah's beautiful long eyelashes and his sweet expressions. He’s one of those babies who melts your heart without even trying.
